Prof. Claus-Christian Eckhardt

Claus-Christian Eckhardt studied industrial design at the Braunschweig University of Art. After graduating, he worked as designer and interior designer for Silvestrin Design, as product designer for Blaupunkt and as head of design for Bosch. He led the design activities of Tenovis and Avaya. Since 2000, he also works as freelance designer. In 2001 he was appointed as professor and head of the Faculty of Industrial Design at the University of Lund (Sweden), where he later became director of the newly founded School of Industrial Design.

Gabriele Frauendorf

The photographer and fashion and costume designer, Gabriele Frauendorf, created her own “Frauendorf” label in Hamburg in 1988. At the same time, she started designing costumes for dance performances, organising fashion shows, and took on the role of head fashion designer with German fashion companies. From 1997 to 2001 Gabriele Frauendorf designed costumes for the Leipziger Varieté theatre. From 1997 she worked as a costume designer for opera, dance and theatre at international venues such as Vienna, Sao Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Venice, Ankara, Naples and Rome, as well as theatres and opera houses in Germany. Since 2002 she has been designing sportswear, and is responsible for the closing gala of the German Gymnastics Festival, hosted by the German Gymnasts’ Federation. Gabriele Frauendorf has furthermore been designing costumes for various television series (since 2005) and also works as a theatre photographer.

Steve Uhlig

Steve Uhlig is the founder and owner of activeART, an art gallery based in Leipzig which has dedicated itself to contemporary art by organizing innovative exhibitions in different places. The gallery represents emerging and established international artists and offers Personal service, support and consulting to collectors, enterprises, museums and artists. Steve is interested in new exhibition concepts and the change of the art market through the internet. As a coach at the University of Leipzig, he supports spin-offs from the universities and research facilities, in particular artists and other creatives, on the path to self-employment in the SMILE entrepreneurship network. Steve studied Business Administration at the University of Leipzig and at Macquarie University Sydney. He is an honorary member of the board of the European Humanist Education Foundation in Waldenburg and is responsible as project manager for the non-profit cultural project ArtWalk.
