DreamHack to Host WCS Leipzig, January 26-28th, 2018
DreamHack is proud to announce in partnership with Blizzard Entertainment, the first StarCraft II World Championship Series Circuit event of 2018. On January 26th-28th, nearly two years after PtitDrogo overcame Bly at DreamHack Leipzig, the WCS Circuit will return to Germany to start the next chapter in StarCraft II esports history. WCS Leipzig will feature a $100,000 prize pool and the chance for all players to compete against the best. The winner of the tournament will earn entry to the WCS Global Playoffs at the end of 2018 to play for the world championship.
WCS Leipzig will retain a similar format and structure the WCS Circuit stops in Austin, Jonkoping, Valencia, and Montreal from this past season, along with the opportunity to win honor, prestige, and coveted WCS Points for those eligible for WCS Circuit events.
WCS StarCraft II: meet the 16 players
The first 16 players have been determined for the line-up in the StarCraft II World Championship Series. Here are the first players who will compete for prize money totalling 100,000 US dollars at DreamHack Leipzig:
