XMG SECTOR2 DreamHack Edition: Heavily discounted special edition at Germany’s biggest LAN party in Leipzig

This year's partners of the DreamHack Edition include ASUS, Seagate, Samsung and Corsair. Some of these will be represented at the DreamExpo; the exhibition area for the digital festival.

The PCs will be available in the LAN XMG Area as well as the official DreamHack Stream Area. Visitors will be able to test the units during the event at the XMG and Asus stands. In total, 200 XMG SECTOR2 PCs will be available at a discounted rate. One of them will be up for grabs to win on the platform gleam.io from 12 January. Further details will be available on XMG's social media site when the competition opens.

Hardware configuration

The Intel Core i7-8700K processor and ASUS ROG STRIX GeForce GTX 1080 with Aura RGB lighting guarantee high-end gaming performance with effortlessly smooth gaming in 4k resolution. Both of these components are supported by an ASUS ROG STRIX Z370-F gaming motherboard which continues to use the RGB LED concept. While the 6-core processor features hyper-threading and a fast base clock speed of 3.6 GHz (turbo: 4.7 GHz), it is the high-performance graphics card that really impresses with its 8 GB GDDR5X memory. A specially designed Corsair Hydro Series H115i V2 with a 280 mm radiator and four XMG silent fans provide CPU cooling.

Memory-wise, the 16 GB DDR4-RAM from the Corsair Vengeance series with a clock speed of 3000 MHz as well as a 500 GB Samsung 960 Evo M.2 SSD are combined with a fast PCIe 3.0 connector. The XMG SECTOR2 DreamHack Edition also features a 4 TB Seagate Barracuda hard drive for installing large game libraries.

The power supply is taken care of by a 650 W Corsair RM650x with 80 PLUS Gold efficiency and all components are incorporated into an XMG Fractal Design S with window featuring RGB lighting elements. The product is rounded off nicely with Windows 10 Home (64-bit) pre-installed. All PCs are tested, cleaned and fully reinstalled before delivery. The guarantee period is 36 months.

XMG SECTOR2 gaming PCs are available to preorder now for just €2,199 from mySN.de. They will be available for delivery after the event from 29 January 2018. LAN Seat XMG ticket holders will also get their participation fee reimbursed, and so pay just €1,900. The standard price of the units discounted by more than €600 or €900 is €2,802 (Valid as of: 11 January 2018).
