More than 400 international exhibitors show the diversity and lates developments in the international literary world - often times containing surprising discoveries. The traditional main focus of the Leipzig Book Fair - exhibiting literature from Central, South East and Eastern Europe - has grown into a large network for publishers, authors and translators from these regions.

The charm of this thematic focus lies in its efficient combination of cultural work, prestige advertising and business - not least because Germany is considered to be the largest translation market.

The diversity of current literature is clearly visible at the Leipzig Book Fair featuring regions such as the Baltic states, the nordic countries, Isreal and Korea. An exchange beyond the Euorpean borders is created here.
