Leipzig book fair: Worlds were created from words for 251,000 visitors – Close encounters, serious debates and literary diversity: 251,000 visitors flocked to the Leipzig book fair and Leipzig liest (Leipzig reads) (2014: 237,000), of these 186,000 visitors (2014: 175,000) to the Leipzig exhibition facilities. They celebrated the words and works of 3,000 participants and 2,263 exhibitors in 3,200 events at 410 reading locations. "In Leipzig the makers of books from 42 countries set an example for freedom of opinion as well as cosmopolitanism and creative enthusiasm for literature", explains Martin Buhl-Wagner, spokesman of the management of the Leipziger Messe. "The Leipzig book fair has once again proven to be a market place and fairground, as well as a stage for political and cultural debates."

Leipzig book fair: Curtains up for books and makers of books – In a few hours the Leipzig book fair 2015 will open its gates for the spring meeting place of the book and media sector. From March 12 to 15, 2,263 exhibitors from 42 countries (2014: 2,194 from 42 countries) will present their current works to the literature inspired public at the fair facilities and in the city of Leipzig. Over four days and nights 3,000 participants at 3,200 events will step on the 410 stages of Europe's largest Reading Festival "Leipzig liest (Leipzig Reads)" and ensure exciting encounters with the written and spoken word.
