Dynamic growth and innovation: metropolitan region of Central Germany
The city of Leipzig in the Free State of Saxony is one of the centres of the Central German metropolitan region. It is located in the heart of Europe, at the gateway to the states of Eastern Europe. The metropolitan region consists of eleven cities in the federal states of Saxony, Saxony-Anhalt and Thuringia, and is home to approximately 2.4 million people. Its trademark features are a dynamic economy, a world-class science industry and a diverse and creative arts and culture scene.
