The conference programme of CosmeticBusiness 2018 highlights trends, new developments and innovations
Topics such as trends in colours and materials, new developments in the field of natural cosmetics and packaging design 4.0 are all featured
The CosmeticBusiness 2018, which will take place from 6 to 7 June at the MOC Munich, offers plenty of scope for discovering trends, new developments and innovations in the cosmetics and supplying industry with its conference programme. Current industry topics are examined by experts in trend and specialised lectures. At SPOTLIGHTS, new products from exhibitors will be presented in more detail. In addition, an information event organised by the German Cosmetic, Toiletry, Perfumery and Detergent Association (IKW) provides insights into the subject area of cosmetics law. Presentations on the cosmetics markets in Germany and Switzerland round off the conference programme.
"New developments, trends and innovations are particularly important in the cosmetics industry. Visitors to CosmeticBusiness can therefore find out about trends and industry developments not only in the comprehensive range of exhibitors but also in the accompanying conference programme," says Project Director Ivonne Simons. "In order to provide visitors with even easier access to the latest information, one of our new features this year will be the organisation of trend workshops".
Presentations and workshops on trends within the industry
The trend lecture "Prospects 2019 beyond – Zeitgeist, Colours, Materials" will be on the agenda of the conference programme on 6 June. Trend Analyst and Colour Expert Niels Holger Wien will be presenting the trends in colours and materials for the 2019/20 fashion season. In his presentation the President of the international trend network INTERCOLOR will be outlining stimulating ideas for creative and pioneering product design in the beauty industry. On the second day of the trade fair, the Carlin Creative Trend Bureau from Paris will present "2019 trend drivers" and their influences on the cosmetics industry.
The Carlin Creative Trend Bureau will also be organising trend workshops on both days of the trade fair, which will be held as part of CosmeticBusiness for the first time. At the workshops participants can exchange ideas with experts on the subject of "How trends can impact my decisions on colour: brand, packaging, product“ in the cosmetics industry.
In addition, at his presentation on 6 June Amarjit Sahota, Founder and President of the market research company Ecovia Intelligence, will be outlining the developments in the field of natural and organic cosmetics which are influencing Europe's cosmetics market.
Best practice from the decorative cosmetics segment
Colour trends and influences from the fashion industry are particularly important for decorative cosmetics. This is also reflected at CosmeticBusiness 2018, which this year will be launching its new exhibition section Colour Cosmetics in hall 1, where suppliers for make-up will be located.
The conference programme will also feature a specific example of best practice from the decorative cosmetics segment: The essence Maker Shop by Cosnova, in which consumers can create their individual cosmetics, is in the spotlight as an example. In their presentation Cosnova Innovation & Trends Manager Leonie Schüssler and Senior Expert Creative Strategy & Concepts Maximilian Seidel will be featuring how the beauty company successfully exploits innovations on the market.
Presentation of new products in the exhibitor SPOTLIGHTS
At this year's CosmeticBusiness, over 400 exhibitors and represented companies will be presenting solutions for the entire value-added chain in the cosmetics industry – from raw materials to manufacturing, packaging and marketing. In the special SPOTLIGHT show in hall 1, a number of exhibitors will be showcasing their new products and innovations.
The conference programme of CosmeticBusiness will also take a closer look at individual exhibitor SPOTLIGHTS. These include, for example, the newly developed body care active ingredient Hydronesis® from Sederma and the innovative active ingredient carrier system VECTICELL ™ from Synthos CARE.
The topic of packaging design also plays a role in the exhibitor SPOTLIGHTS of the conference programme: For instance, Wolfram Hahn, Sales Director Beauty Care and Consumer Brands at Edelmann, will talk about packaging design 4.0 using digital printing. The expert says in the run-up to the trade fair: "Digitally printed packaging helps to create a stronger, more engaging and more emotional branded product at the point of sale, making the process faster, more adaptable and customisable". In addition, the Israeli company Velox will give a lecture on "Digital Decoration in Mass Production".
New facility for generating contacts with distributors
In the Distributors Lounge, CosmeticBusiness has created an offer that represents sales support as a further step in cosmetics value creation. Matchmaking sessions will be held there on both days, during which foreign suppliers and cosmetics brands in particular can make contact with potential distributors from German-speaking countries.
The Distributors Lounge also includes presentations on the cosmetics markets in Germany and Switzerland, organised by the German Cosmetic, Toiletry, Perfumery and Detergent Association (IKW) and the Swiss Cosmetic and Detergent Association (SKW). New players from abroad who want to gain a foothold in both markets with their cosmetic products are to be addressed with this programme item.
IKW information event on cosmetics law
On 7 June the IKW will be holding an information event on the topic of cosmetics law. The event will include expert presentations by Dr Kristin Radke (BASF) on "New aspects of scents", Chris Flower (Cosmetics, Toiletry & Perfumery Association) on "Getting the best from Brexit" and Dr Joachim Kremer (Henkel) on "Reach and cosmetics". Dr Dagmar Bury from L’Oréal will also be explaining how the use of mineral oils in cosmetics has no negative health implications.
