Convention year ends with an inaugural event – In an event year that was characterised by a lot of variety, the Congress Center Leipzig (CCL) welcomed a total of 93,500 visitors to 73 events in 2017. And it will close out the year with an inaugural event. At the same time, KONGRESSHALLE am Zoo Leipzig also shared in the positive trend with 105 events and 55,500 visitors.

Successful business year for foreign trade fairs – With a total of 35 German joint attendances and country participations, as well as nine cooperation and own events, the year 2017 turned into one of the most successful business years for Leipziger Messe International GmbH (LMI), and allowed the company to continue the positive trend of the previous year. It is the result of, among other things, numerous engagements by the Federal Ministry of Food and Agriculture (BMEL), the Federal Ministry of the Economy and Energy (BMWi), and the strong German export industry. Particularly medium-sized companies are increasingly presenting their products in international markets under the “Made in Germany” label and with the professional support of LMI.

MaxicoM GmbH
MaxicoM is a sought-after office location in northern Leipzig – The MaxicoM Euro-Asia Business Center Leipzig looks back on a successful year 2017. Rental contracts for over 968 square metres of office space were concluded with 14 companies. In addition, existing tenants also expanded their premises by 336 square metres. Ten rental contracts were extended, including long-term contracts with two tenants that occupy large office premises.

For young companies in particular, getting a foothold in that market is often a challenge. In order to help them meet potential customers, investors and partners from Germany and abroad at OTWorld 2018, a joint stand is being organised for the first time – the ‘Start-up Zone’.

DreamHack Leipzig
The LAN area at DreamHack Leipzig is being expanded after a surge in demand for tickets – Germany’s biggest LAN party has been celebrated at DreamHack Leipzig since 2016 – and it never stops growing. Whereas there were only 1,000 seats available at the première event, the area was relocated into its own hall last year and expanded to provide 1,500 seats. Two months before the start of DreamHack Leipzig 2018, the original consignment of 1,500 tickets has already sold out. Due to this great demand, the LAN area is now being expanded. Additional rows of seating will be released one after the other in the ticket shop. Depending on demand, the LAN party at DreamHack Leipzig 2018 can be increased up to 2,000 seats.

Preparations underway for MUTEC 2018: early highlights of the international trade fair – Preparations for the next edition of the international trade fair are now underway, and some highlights are already taking shape, among them a special show, project presentations and symposiums. One year ago MUTEC, which has been held in parallel with denkmal since 2010, saw its successful premiere as an event wholly organised by Leipziger Messe. The duo of trade fairs attracted 13,900 visitors, easily exceeding expectations. MUTEC in particular was able to achieve a considerable increase in the number of exhibitors and visitors. The 2018 edition has already received a number of early registrations. The registration papers for exhibitors are available online for all interested companies.

Trade Fair Gefahrgut & Gefahrstoff off to a successful start – The first Trade Fair Gefahrgut & Gefahrstoff took place from 14 to 16 November 2017. This new industry platform was an opportunity for vendors and users of products and services in the sectors of transport, intralogistics and security of dangerous goods and hazardous substances to meet and exchange. In the Congress Center Leipzig (CCL) at Leipziger Messe, 60 exhibitors presented a broad range of offerings, attracting 1,060 trade visitors and experts. The next Trade Fair Gefahrgut & Gefahrstoff will take place from 9 to 11 April 2019.

Experience cosplay: DreamHack Leipzig brings game characters to life – The grand cosplay contest at DreamHack Leipzig is one of the most popular events of the festival. This coming January, the contest will be taking place once again on the second day of DreamHack Leipzig. It will see many famous characters coming to life and creating a magical gaming atmosphere. Our 30 contestants will be presenting their lovingly designed costume creations in the spotlight of the event stage.
