Technology for people – the interface – More than a billion people worldwide need some form of orthopaedic aid to improve their quality of life long-term, according to the World Health Organisation (WHO). The use of prosthetic and orthotic systems for the human body both imitates lost functionality and restores it, whilst at the same time managing to push back the limitations of the incapacity. The future course of treatment with orthopaedic interventions is set afresh every two years at OTWorld, International Trade Fair and World Congress (15 to 18 May 2018). More than 21,000 experts from the various disciplines and professions involved come together to present and discuss the quality of treatment, innovations in technology, the ‘state of the art’ in their field and visions of what the future might look like.

efa 2017 impresses as the most important marketplace for decision-makers in the building services and electrical engineering industries in Central Germany – The efa, which took place for the 15th time from September 20 to 22 at Leipzig’s Exhibition Center, focused on current trends and groundbreaking innovations in building services and electrical engineering. The parallel HIVOLTEC compliments the range by adding high and medium voltage technology. In spite of the outstanding order situation in the trade and resulting utilization, 12,200 visitors leveraged the opportunity to gain a comprehensive overview of the market at the trade fairs. “We have once again managed to bring together all key stakeholders of the building services and electrical engineering industries at the efa, while even increasing the percentage of decision-makers. The quality of this year’s event was also confirmed by all. Participants also rated the prospects of good follow-up business after the trade fairs as highly positive.

Intec and Z 2019: Exhibitor registration is now open – Leipziger Messe will once again become the central platform for production technologies for metal processing and the key venue for the supply industry during the coming iteration of the Intec and Z from February 5 to 8, 2019. The registration phase for the Intec and Z 2019, which are preparing to add another chapter to their success story, has now started.

CosmeticBusiness Poland now established as the platform for the cosmetics industry and its suppliers in Poland – The second edition of CosmeticBusiness Poland, which was held in conjunction with the HPCI – Home and Personal Care Ingredients Exhibition and Conference – from 27 to 28 September, continued the success of its premiere the year before. Over 270 exhibitors and represented companies presented their products and services at this year’s sector rendezvous for the cosmetics industry and its suppliers, held in Warsaw’s EXPO XXI Exhibition Centre, where specialists from the beauty sector were able to get information about new, innovative solutions for developing, producing and packaging their cosmetics and cleaning products. Exhibitors and visitors alike were all very satisfied with this year’s CosmeticBusiness Poland.

New project director – Stephanie Scholz takes over the management of DreamHack Leipzig – On 1 August 2017, Stephanie Scholz became the new project director of DreamHack Leipzig. The 28-year-old has a BA in Event Management and worked as an event manager for the Hilton Group in London from 2012 onwards. Her tasks included event planning and management, as well as sales and marketing. Last year, she was nominated for the "Manager of the Year" award by the Hilton Group.

Top marks again: med.Logistica continues its success story – On 17 and 18 May 2017, 900 [2015: 750] participants met up at the largest platform for innovation in hospital logistics in the German-speaking world. Med.Logistica brought together decision-makers from hospitals, clinics and other representatives of the healthcare economy, to discuss future developments and ways of optimising processes and procedures in the everyday work of the hospital. Experts from Germany, Denmark, Luxemburg, the Netherlands, Austria and Switzerland presented examples of best practice in modern hospital logistics. Participating companies (80 exhibitors from 7 countries) all declared themselves very satisfied with the event.

Exhibitors and visitors delighted with CosmeticBusiness 2017 – CosmeticBusiness is continuing its success story. At the thirteenth International Trade Fair of the Cosmetics Supplying Industry 411 exhibitors and represented companies from 18 countries showed their new ideas and innovative solutions for future product concepts in the cosmetics industry, and trade visitors from 48 countries came to find out about them at the MOC Munich. Both exhibitors and visitors declared themselves very satisfied with the way CosmeticBusiness 2017 had gone.
